Il était une fois une prostituée du nom de Vrinda qui tomba amoureuse du Seigneur Krishna. Il était marié et lui a dit qu'il ne pouvait pas accepter son amour. Elle a plaidé qu’elle voulait seulement pouvoir le voir et que sa demande n’allait pas plus loin. Il lui a dit qu'elle pouvait être suffisamment proche pour le voir mais qu'elle ne devait pas briser sa maison. Ainsi Vrinda vint et resta dans sa cour. Au fil des siècles, elle est devenue le symbole de l'autre femme qui aime mais ne détruit pas la maison de son amant marié.
Once upon a time there was a prostitute by the name of Vrinda who fell in love with lord Krishna. He was married and told her that he could not accept her love. She pleaded that she only wanted to be able to see him and her demand was not more than that. He told her that she could be near enough to see him but she should not break his home. Thus Vrinda came and stayed in his courtyard. Through centuries she became the symbol of the other woman who loves but does not break the house of her lover who is married.
